Elastic properties of cross-linked layered structures synthesized from C60 powder at 8–11GPa; 500–1650K
1999
Abstract Velocities of longitudinal and transverse acoustic waves were measured for the first time in disordered cross-linked layered structures obtained by static thermobaric treatment of C 60 powder at pressures P =8–11 GPa and temperatures up to T =1650 K. Elastic constants are evaluated and compared with known data for other superhard and ultrahard fullerites, polycrystalline and monocrystal diamonds, graphite and pristine C 60 .
