Traction diverteculum: A complication of cervical esophagostomy

1982
Cervical esophagostomy has become a preferred technique for a long-term enteral alimentation in chronically ill patients. It has relatively few complications and many benefits. We present a case of traction diverticulum as a complication of the procedure. This complication will probably become more prevalent as more esophagostomas are reversed. Management of the complication by a “tack-up” operation is discussed.
