Applied and Residual Strain/stress Measurements on a Dolomite Rock Sample Using Neutron Time-of-flight Diffraction

2001
Abstract Applied and residual strain-stress investigations were carried out on approximately pure polycrystalline dolomite under uniaxial compression and using neutron time-of-flight diffraction. Furthermore, the residual strain/stress behaviour of the sample was measured after each step of loading. Three Bragg reflections of dolomite were used for detailed investigations. They are found to be under compression, both for the loaded and for the relaxed states. Young's moduli were determined experimentally.
