Séroprévalence des donneurs de sang à l’hôpital Nianankoro Fomba de Ségou

Objective: Determine the infectious diseases transmissible by blood products transfusion in blood donors at the Nianankoro Fomba Hospital in Segou. Design: This was a retrospective descriptive study, effected of blood donors from January to December 2016 at the blood bank unity of Nianankoro Fomba hospital of Segou. For the screening of infections, only fast tests have been used. Results: 3941 donors have been collected. The average age was 31.21 ± 8.7 years (extremes: 18-60 years). The sex ratio M/F was 15.63. Family donors and new blood donors predominated with 91.4% and 81%, respectively. The seroprevalence of HIV, hepatitis B, hepatitis C and of syphilis was respectively of 5.30%; 11%; 2.40%. The seroprevalence of HIV, hepatitis B, hepatitis C and of the syphilis was higher among primo- donors with respectively 4.62%; 9.69%; 2.11%; and 4.69%. Conclusions: Seroprevalence of HIV, hepatitis B, hepatitis C and syphilis is high among family donors and primary donors, hence the importance of retaining voluntary blood donors.
