Linear Stability Analysis is used through the recently developed Residuals Algorithm in stationary or oscillatory discrete arbitrary systems, also in results of a bidimensional flow over a square cavity via Direct Simulation Monte Carlo (DSMC). The objective of each analysis is the obtention of decay rates, oscillation frequency (when existent), steady state results and disturbances amplitude of the macroscopic flow properties.The discrete arbitrary systems were used as a way of validation of the developed code for the application of the Residuals Algorithm. In these cases the exact values of all the calculated parameters were already Known and good agreement was obtained in the stationary cases. In the oscillatory systems it was also possible to obtain good results for de decay rate, as well as for the oscillation frequency, steady state and amplitude function.The good agreement between exact and calculated results in the stationary systems allowed the application of the code in data from de DSMC simulation, where once more the algorithm proved itself efficient, despite the high level of noise in the properties’ temporal evolution.
