performance of shutter type air curtains

1999
The shutter-type air curtains are a valid alternative to reduce airflow through building external apertures when it is not possible and /or not compatible with the indoor space destination to use traditional doors. This paper presents a parametric study of the performance of the shutter-type air curtain, used in commercial and public building, which is based on a CFD simulation. The main parameter taken into account are referred not only to the air curtain both also to the outdoor and indoor spaces; particularly wind and push air velocity, indoor air leakage, push airflow rate are some among the considered parameters which can influence the design criteria.
