Soroprevalência da leptospirose em ovinos na microrregião homogênea de Teresina, Piauí

Leptospirosis is an infectious disease responsible for reducing the productivity of farm animals. 302 serum samples of ovine animals older than 6 months of 10 municipalities in the micro-region of Teresina, 82 showed positive reactions by SAM, resulting in a prevalence of 27.15%, with serovarcastellonis (36.62%) were collected, the that showed higher expression. The risk factors were observed: worming, commercial use, types of facilities, type of coverage, syndicated flock occurrence of reproductive problems, veterinary care, presence of rodents, breeding system. Thus, aim of this work was to perform a serologic survey for identification of Leptospira, as well as potential risk factors in sheep homogeneous micro-region of Teresina - Piaui.
