A method of examining thermal-corrosion and thermophysical characteristics of reinforced materials in one-sided cyclic radiative heating

1993
A new method has been developed for testing composites for corrosion-thermal resistance that simultaneously enables one to determine the changes in thermophysical characteristics due to one-sided radiative heating in a corrosive medium. The method has been tested on a composite based on a glass ceramic reinforced with silicon carbide fibers. A study has been made on how the thermal cycling and corrosive medium affect the physicomechanical characteristics.
