The progress of the research on the floating population in China

The appearance of floating population is a key milestone in the process of China's urbanization and modernization.Scholars from different fields focus on researches of floating population.By systematically unscrambling domestic studies on floating population,this paper generalizes the main contents into eight parts:floating population-related concept,migration mechanism,migration impediments,floating capital and impacts on cities,representative studies on migration,migrant management as well as migrant spatial studies.Finally,several suggestions for future studies on floating population are proposed.
