Bioinformatics analysis of structure and characteristics of the gene and protein of ubiquitin-conjugated enzyme from Taenia asiatica.

2009
The structure and characteristics of ubiquitin-conjugated enzyme from Tainia asiatica(T.a E2)were analyzed and predicted by bioinformatics software package and bioinformatics tools provided by websites of NCBI and ExPaSY.A full-length cDNA sequence of ubiquitin-conjugated enzyme from cDNA plasmid library of T.asiatica was identified and the characteristics of the deduced proteins including their physico-chemical properties,post-translational modification sites and domains,sub-cellular location, topological and secondary structures were predicted. It was found that the full-length cDNA sequence of ubiquitin-conjugated enzyme of T.asiatica had a complete open reading frame(ORF)of 554 bp that encoded a putative protein with 154 amino acid residues. It's coding region situated in an area from 76 bp to 537 bp.The amino acid sequence showed high identity with the ubiquitin-conjugated enzyme of other species submitted in GenBank, while, the molecular weight of T.a E2 was predicted to be 17397.1 Da.This protein had no transmembranous region and their sub-cellular location was situated at cell nucleus.A close relationship in phylogenesis between T.a E2 and the ubiquitin-conjugated enzymes of trematode species could be demonstrated.
