Red cell enzymes—II. Enzyme activities in the red blood cells of high and low potassium sheep
1975
Abstract 1. 1. Activities of various glycolytic enzymes were measured in the red blood cells of high potassium (HK) and low potassium (LK) sheep. 2. 2. Significant differences were observed in the glucose phosphate isomerase and lactate dehydrogenase activities in the two groups. 3. 3. Levels of all other enzyme activities were not significantly different between HK and LK red cells. 4. 4. Overall, the results suggest that there are no differences in the energy metabolism of the red blood cells of HK and LK sheep.
