Actuator for a, in particular electrically driven steering propeller of a ship, which is arranged in the stern area on a rotatable shaft (1) underneath the ship bottom, wherein the shaft (1) via at least two electric control motors (8) is rotatable, which pinion (6 ) (on one standing in connection with the upper shaft portion ring gear 5), acting and to control in the composite and are controllable formed, the control motors (8) are designed such that with them a permanent torque can be applied and wherein the permanent torque of the at least two control motors (8) can be applied against each other to effect gear stress.
