A protective device for a drive train comprising a joint double spider

The protective device comprises a protective cone (13) of plastics material, fixed by one axial end to a mounting device (12). At its second axial end (16) it carries a guide ring (18). Between its ends are provided folds (15). The guide ring (18) is arranged by means of a hollow spherical inner surface (19) on a spherical outer surface (26) of a mounting ring (25), the latter being mounted in a mounting groove ( 7) of the double yoke (2) of the gasket double spider (1) by means of a sliding ring (30). The guide ring (18) is maintained by means of folds (15) of the protective cone (13) under prestress in contact with the outer surface (26). It is mobile by releasing the mounting arrangement, so that the components of the double cross joint are accessible for maintenance, for example for lubrication.
