Robust Fault-tolerant Control for a Class of Linear Discrete System

Aiming at the situation that the sensor or/and the actuator may fail in the uncertain linear discrete system, a design method of robust fault-tolerant controller based on state feedback is proposed using robust control theory. This method is introduced on the assumption that the sensor and the actuator may fail at the same time. This method is also applicable to the situation where the sensor or the actuator fails separately. The controller obtained by using this method not only has the robustness for uncertainty and disturbance but also possesses the property of fault-tolerance for the sensor or/ and the actuator failures. Simulation results demonstrate that the method provides a simple and effective solution to the problem of robust fault-tolerant for a class of uncertain linear discrete system.
