Study on hepatic carcinoma with color power angiography and three dimensional color power angiography

2001
Objective To evaluate the characteristics of blood supply in hepatic carcionoma and diagnostic value of color power angiography (CPA) and three dimensional color power angiography (3D CPA) in hepatic carcinoma. Methods CPA examination was preformed by ATL HDI 3000 ultrasonic system and C4 2 superwide frenquency transducer in 53 hepatocellular carcionomas (HCC) and 44 hepatic metastases (HM). Comparative study was done between 3D CPA and X ray angiography (AG) in 57 cases or pathology examination in 32 cases. Results The blood supplies of HCC and HM were characterized by radial blood flow signals in surrounding regions and by tree branch blood flow signals in intratumor with CPA,and by signals as “a myriad of stars surrounding the moon” in 66.67% of hepatic carcionoma with 3D CPA. The results were corresponded to the result of AG and pathology examination. Conclusions 3D CPA can be used as the best method to evaluate the blood supply of hepatic tumors.
