Stori Bilong Isaac John - Yumi Sanap Strong

Isaac John is a chief in his community in Bougainville. He has observed continued accusations around sorcery and related violence in his community and say that this is due to some extent due to the Bougainville civil war. But now he wants to change this and ensure that any accusations follow the legal process and that the leaders in the community take responsibility to have peace in the community and in Bougainville. Stori Bilong Isaac John was produced as part of the Yumi Sanap Strong initiative, a community led initiative that emerged from an action research project undertaken by Queensland University of Technology in partnership with the University of Goroka and community-based partner organisations. The project develops communication strategies and materials to address sorcery accusation related violence in Papua New Guinea. The community partner organisation for this digital story was the Nazareth Centre for Rehabilitation in Bougainville, Papua New Guinea.
