Genomics study on the genetic characteristics of multidrug resistant acinetobacter baumannii biofilm

Objective
To study the unique presence of bacterial biofilm and unique gene expression characteristics.
Methods
We collected the multidrug resistant acinetobacter baumannii strains.Then we studied the same strain, but different growth status, analyzed the different gene expression.
Results
The whole genome sequencing of the acinetobacter baumannii did have significant difference in the expression between the two.There were significant differences in the expression of 198 genes, among which 106 genes were up-regulated and 92 genes were down-regulated in the biofilm compared to the rapidly growing cells.
Conclusions
Bacterial biofilm had its own unique gene and protein expressions.The physiological and biochemical characteristics, pathogeniciry and drug sensitivity of the cells were significantly different from those of the planktonic cells.These genes differ in the expression of genes, mainly focused on the outer membrane protein and regulatory factors related genes.
