Topology Agnostic Solution for Tapless Calibration of Silicon Photonic Mach-Zehnder Based Switches

We develop a universal calibration method based on the photo-conductance effect for Silicon Photonic switches with Mach-Zehnder elements. Free from integrated or external monitoring photodetectors, this method demonstrates accurate characterization of each element for the cross and bar states.
