Collecting apparatus (13) replacing gas used for installing an air conditioner which is comprised of an outdoor unit (A) including a compressor (1) and a heat exchanger (3) of the outdoor unit; refrigerant gas charged into said compressor (1) and said heat exchanger (3) of the outdoor unit; an indoor unit (B) including a heat exchanger (6) of the indoor unit that is open to the atmosphere; and a connecting tube (10) connecting said outdoor unit (A) and said indoor unit (B), comprising: a body of a trap container; an agent for capturing gas charged inside said trap container for absorbing and collecting a replacing gas which has replaced air in said exchanger (6) of the indoor unit and said connecting pipe (10) through a connecting apparatus (14), wherein a volume of space inside said trap container that is part of said manifold (13) apparatus replacing gas is greater than the volume of inner space of said connecting apparatus (14) wherein said apparatus (13) replacing gas to the following formula is set: volume of the interior space of said connecting apparatus (14) = (volume of spaces of a container) x (760-5pA) / 760 in wherein pA is the pressure within the receptacle
