Inheritance Analysis of Three Wheat Differential Hosts for Yellow Rust Resistance

Single spore isolate,race 2E16 of Puccinia striiformis West was used for inoculation according to virulence spectrum to differential hosts for resistance to yellow(stripe) rust.For the composing and genetic characteristic of genes for resistance to yellow(stripe) rust,they were identified in three differential hosts Chinese166,HeinesⅦ and Vilmorin23.The seedling plants reactions to race 2E16 were assessed in the parents,F_1,F_2,BC_1 and reciprocal cross generations from a set of crosses made between wheat 3 differential hosts and susceptible cultivar Mingxian169.The result shows that two dominant genes,Yr1 and other dominant gene independently and overlappedly determine the reactions of Chinese 166 to race 2E16,Single dominant gene Yr2 and one recessive gene determine the reactions of HeinesⅦ to race 2E16 and one dominant gene Yr3 and one recessive gene determine the reactions of Vilmorin23 to race 2E16.Forthermore,race 2E16 can differ from the resistance gene and be used as the standard isolates for the postulation of genes.
