Professional Perspectives of the ‘Self’ in Their Journey Through Medicine

Mentorship and advising is one of the most important areas for new BHPs to grow in their training and experience in medicine. Established providers often credit their mentors and supervisors for helping to pave their path in a clinical, research, teaching, or administrative role in healthcare. These providers can also offer valuable advice for future professionals that are beginning their journey into the world of healthcare. This chapter highlights four professional experiences around different self-of therapist topics. Each professional provides their recommendations for the current and future workforce of providers working in healthcare, covering tips in both personal and practice areas.
