Coherence Time and Doppler Spread Analysis of the V2V Channel in Highway and Urban Environments

2018
In this work, we have performed an analysis of the coherence time and Doppler spread of the vehicular-to-vehicular (V2V) propagation channel based on channel measurements at 5.9 GHz. The measurements were collected in a highway and urban environment, where the study of the time variability of the received signal is important due to the motion of both terminals, the transmitter (Tx) and receiver (Rx), together with the objects that are around. The results reported here permit us a better understanding of the V2V propagation channel and can be useful to the deployment of the future vehicular networks.
