Recent Developments in the Synthesis of Annonaceous Acetogenins

Synthetic routes to various bis-THF annonaceous acetogenins and prototypes thereof are reviewed. These C35–C37 long-chain diethers exhibit a remarkable range of biological activities. The core unit, with six oxygenated stereogenic centers, provides a challenging target for asymmetric synthesis.
