The paper presents the further development of the optimization technique for the workshop service for the maintenance of woodworking equipment. The theoretical basis is the queuing theory. The flow of failures of woodworking equipment is considered as homogeneous, stationary, without aftereffect. Such a flow is called simple or Poisson. The shop service of equipment maintenance is considered as a closed queuing system, assuming that the failure rate and service intensity are constant values. According to the dependencies known from queuing theory, the following variables were determined: the probability that there is not any service order Pо in the system; the average length of the service queue Mo; average number of orders Nз; average number of free workers No; idle workers ratio; idle order rate of goats; employment rate of workers Kз. A computer program was developed for the calculation. Analysis of the performance characteristics of shop service equipment maintenance showed their dependence on the number of a repair team number. The goal of optimization was taken to minimize an equipment downtime. The optimization goal function was assumed as a sum of values ​​ contradictive by the nature of their change F = Mo + Nз + No ® min. The dependencies of the performance characteristics of a shop maintenance service on the number of workers in the repair team were identified. Investigation of the goal function on the extremum allowed us to identify the optimal number of workers in the repair team. An example of the calculation is given for a furniture shop for 25 units of woodworking equipment with average repair complexity. The calculations showed that in the repair service of the furniture shop there will always be moments when the equipment is idle while waiting for maintenance and there will always be cases when the workers are free workers, not engaged in operations. The nonlinear nature of the optimized goal function allows us to optimize a number of a repair team.
