Eggs with eggshell pimpling were investigated in respect to hatchability, pathological changes of embryo mortality and injury of shells. It was discovered that the hatching level was approximately 21.3% lower and the level of dead embryo's damage was higher. Cuticle structure changes in places damaged by eggshell pimpling was found by electron microscopy scanning. X-ray microanalysis exhibited the non-physiological distribution of the majority of investigated elements, especially sodium, chlorine, oxygen and large differences of calcium.
