GEOCHEMICAL AND STATISTICAL CHARACTERIZATION OF GROUNDWATER IN TADLA IRRIGATED PERIMETER (MOROCCO)

2014
In Tadla irrigated perimeter, the increased use of shallow and groundwater resources combined with agricultural intensification lead to deterioration of water and soil quality by the generalized salinisation of soils and shallow aquifer. This study aims the geochemical and statistical characterization of the waters in Tadla plain irrigated perimeter. Diagrams of concentration show that chemical elements; sulphate and calcite evolve in an uncertain way because of the calcite residual alkalinity. Statistical study shows some likeness but also of meaningful differences between the composition of the two irrigated perimeters. In those two perimeters the salinisation is the major process.
