The invention relates to an electrical machine (2) for a motor vehicle (1), comprising a housing (3), arranged one at least partly in the housing (3) stator (6) and rotatably mounted one in the stator (6) rotor (7 ). The electric machine (2) to be coolable and still made compact. The invention provides that the stator (6) and the rotor (7) each have at least one axial passage opening (19, 20) and the rotor (7) comprises a conveyor (31) which is adapted during a rotation of to promote the rotor (7) disposed in the housing (3) air through the at least one passage opening (20) of the rotor (7), so that in the housing (3) has a circulating air flow (17) through the through-openings (19, 20) of the the rotor (7) and the stator (6) is circulated.
