A novel and selective synthetic approach for the access of pyrrolo[1,2-a] imidazol-7-one or pyrrol-3-one

Abstract A novel and metal-free synthetic method for the formation of pyrrolo[1,2- a ]imidazol-7-one or pyrrol-3-one from dihydropyrroloimidazol-6-one through the C N bond cleavage and formation was achieved. The salient features of this method are operational simplicity, mild reaction conditions, and readily available starting materials.
