PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the inspection accuracy even when an original protrudes from an imaging range in an image inspection apparatus which inspects goodness/badness of a pick-up image by comparing the pick-up image with a reference image. SOLUTION: An edge valid part linear expression calculation part 126 performs edge valid part linear expression calculation processing about each of vertical and horizontal sides. An original vertex setting processing part 132 specifies vertex coordinates of the original in the pick-up image by referring to the calculated linear expression. A protruding location judgment processing part 134 judges whether or not the vertex coordinates protrude from the imaging range. A boundary part specification processing part 136 specifies a boundary part with the imaging range about an original vertex whose vertex coordinates are judged to protrude from the imaging range. A non-inspection region setting part 138 demarcates a non-inspection region based on coordinate information indicating the boundary part and coordinate information of the protruding original vertex. An image inspection processing part 200 performs an inspection by excluding the non-inspection area demarcated by the non-inspection region setting part 138 from an inspection object.
