Prediction of Uptake of Some Aromatics and Pesticides by Soil
2018
Soil adsorption coefficients, KOC, for a series of aromatics and pesticides have been determined from high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) capacity factors, k′, by using a new HPLC immobilized phase which bears immobilized humic acid. From the values for KOC it appears this new HPLC phase is superior to other procedures — partition into n-octanol and retention on an HPLC ethyl silica phase — for modeling the sorption of organic chemicals on soil or sediment.
