《郭嵩焘日记》（卷一）及其史料价值

Guo Songtao Diary is the most lively and rich material to study Guo Songtao's life and thinking, totalling four volumes. It includes five stages: tour of Southern China; duty in Beijing; patrol in Tianjin, Dagu and the east of Shandong province; return to Beijing; resign from office and return to Hunan province. The content is very rich. The diary is full of thick scholar style. And the records are very meticulous and have higher data value. Guo Songtao documented the things which he has saw and heard in daily, as well as social activities, such as the records of Tanjin's military defense and contacts in Beijing and so on.
