A new species of Neanthes (Annelida, Polychaeta, Nereididae) from Brazil, and some remarks on Neanthes Bruaca Lana & Sovierzoski, 1987

A new species of Nereididae, Neanthes ceciliae n. sp., is described based on a large number of specimens, providing details about morphological variations in juveniles, adults and epitokes. Neanthes ceciliae n. sp. differs from its congeneric species in the number of conical paragnaths and morphology of the parapodia. Neanthes bruaca Lana & Sovierzoski (1987) is redescribed based on type material and additional specimens from Sao Paulo, Parana and Santa Catarina. The morphology of the parapodia is detailed and additional characters are added to the diagnosis.
