Recent Results Obtained from a 2nd Generation Airborne Surveillance System for Identification of Maritime Pollution.

1996
Marine pollution by accidental or illegal discharges of oil cause severe environmental problems. To control and to prosecute illegal polluters the German Government began routine airborne surveillance operations over the North and Baltic Sea in 1986. Following several modifications of aircrafts and the integration of new equipment, results from recently flown airborne surveillance missions are reported.
