Respect for people’s rights and dignity. Engaging in and condoning unfair and discriminatory practices does little to recognize and celebrate the respect, dignity, and worth due all people. Although the HCN trainers may have felt some distinction for their ability to make a good salary by local standards, in the professional setting in which they worked the situation was an affront to their experience, expertise, and self-respect.
