This article spreads a theoretical review about the fundamentals psychological and pedagogic necessary for emotional literacy teaching in school contexts. The analysis of the history, relevance of emotional intelligence approach, the argument about the need for a change in educational models for appropriate response to the demands of a dynamic society with increasingly complex, systematization the fundamentals of human development, learning and teaching according to the development of emotion competencies from school with a historical and cultural basis, are the main results of this research work.
