Семантические изменения в синкретических формах «Существительное / глагол» в английском языке

The article intends to describe and classify semantic changes in conversive pairs «noun/verb» using lexico-semantic groups «animals», «tools» and «somatics». For this purpose nouns are classified according to the principle «objective/abstract» and united into lexico-semantic groups. Within these groups basic features for semantic changes, similarities and differences are defined. It deals with the change of meaning of the verbs derived from objective nouns. The author concludes that the semantics of the derived verbs is related to associations caused by external similarity with an object and its functions.
