Uma Análise do Panorama das Regiões Missões e Noroeste do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul sob o Prisma da Energia Eólica e Solar Fotovoltaica como Fontes Alternativas de Energia

2013
The aim of this article is to analyze wind and solar photovoltaic power as alternatives for energy diversification in small farms in the north-western and missions regions of the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, and consequently contribute to the development of this topic. This study was coordinated by the State University of Rio Grande do Sul - UERGS, a member of the State Technological Extension Network of the SIBRATEC - Brazilian Technology System. Knowledge on the ways in which alternative energies can be employed and their applicability in the study region was obtained by means of space mapping and initial diagnosis of wind and solar potential in these regions. Results showed that the study area has significant potential for power generation from the use of wind turbines and photovoltaic panels, and the capacity to exploit complementarity between both systems during periods that are favorable and unfavorable to each system.
