Intelligent, internal gas-injection wells revitalize mature field

In February 2000, Brunei Shell Petroleum Co. drilled and completed its first internal gas-injection well in the SW Ampa Block 11 field. Well SWA-285 enables deliberate crossflow of gas from deep gas reservoirs into the gas caps of overlying oil reservoirs. The result is a pressure-maintenance scheme that requires no surface facilities.
