Electromagnetic corrections to the polarizabilities of the charged pion
1985
A further calculation is made of the electromagnetic corrections to the process of radiative scattering of pions in the Coulomb field of nuclei. It is shown that the electromagnetic corrections simulate a charged-pion magnetic polarizability ..beta../sup QED//sub ..pi../ = -0.3 x 10/sup -43/ cm/sup 3/ and, at the same time, a sum of the electric and magnetic polarizabilities equal to (..cap alpha../sub ..pi../+..beta../sub ..pi../)/sup QED/ = 0.1 x 10/sup -43/ cm/sup 3/.
