Summary of the Conference

In planning the present conference the Local Organizing Committee attempted to celebrate 70 years of Professor Chushiro Hayashi and commemorate his pioneering work on primordial nucleosynthesis and the evolution of early universe published 40 years ago. To our greatest regret, however, he seems to have suspected our plan and shyed to be present at this conference. I would, therefore, like to tell you how he initiated a work on primordial nucleosynthesis 40 years ago and what he thought 25 years ago when the cosmic background radiation was discovered.
