Wrinkled-paper-like ZnCo2O4 nanoflakes as a superior anode material for ultrahigh-rate lithium-ion batteries

Abstract Wrinkled-paper-like ZnCo 2 O 4 nanoflakes were synthesized by a facile hydrothermal synthesis and a post-annealing treatment. As an anode for lithium-ion batteries, it exhibits high capacity, excellent cyclability and ultrahigh rate performance. A reversible capacity of 1138 mAh g −1 at 1 A g −1 was obtained after 500 cycles. After cycled at current densities from 0.2 to 25.6 A g −1 , the reversible capacity can recover to 1089 mAh g −1 at 0.2 A g −1 . It has been demonstrated that the wrinkled-paper-like ZnCo 2 O 4 nanoflakes are promising for application as future energy storage units.
