The invention provides a backlight module. The backlight module comprises a light source (11), a first light reflection portion (12) arranged above the light source (11) and a second light reflection portion (13) arranged below the light source (11), wherein the first light reflection portion (12) comprise a groove (12a) denting towards the light source (11), an inner surface of the groove (12a) comprises a first reflection paraboloid (121) and a second reflection paraboloid (122) which take the light source as a focus and are mutually connected, emission light of the light source (11) is horizontally reflected by the first reflection paraboloid (121), the emission light of the light source (11) is reflected by the second reflection paraboloid (122) to the second light reflection portion (13), and the light reflected onto the second light reflection portion (13) is horizontally reflected by the second light reflection portion (13). The invention further provides an LCD having the backlight module. Through the backlight module and the LCD, the thinning effect is realized, and cost is greatly reduced.
