''Genealogy'' of plant physiology research in Canada and the founding of the Canadian Society of Plant Physiologists 1

Two men were leaders in the development of plant physiology research in Canada: Professor G.W. Scarth at McGill University and Professor G.H. Duff at the University of Toronto. The latter was the driving force behind the for- mation of the CSPP in 1958. The contributions of these two men and their graduate students to plant physiology research in Canada are briefly summarized.
