Active schematics : a new approach to publishing complex schematic information electronically

1999
This paper describes a breakthrough technology for viewing, navigating, and interacting with complex schematic information on a small, limited resolution display device. Using ActiveSchematics technology, a mechanic is able to browse visually, and schematically through complex electronic and hydraulic systems, checking interconnections, components and continuity, and instantly link to databases and other documents. The schematic displays could be built dynamically from a master database and displayed in WebCGM, a profile of CGM. Hyperlinks to associated information are built automatically, as well.
