REPORT ON RECOMMENDED SAFE PRACTICES IN THE USE OF DIAGNOSTIC X-RAY EQUIPMENT
1963
Recommendations are offered which, if followed, will minimize x-ray exposure to the patient, the x-ray technician, and to personnel located outside of controlled areas, without sacrificing any of the necessary diagnostic qualities. The generation, characteristics, and health hazards of x rays of diagnostic quality are discussed, and the permissible doses, as recommended in the appropriate National Bureau of Standards Handbook 59, are outlined.
