Process for coverage adaptation of a braid of braided fiber strands and braiding this

The present invention relates to methods for coverage adaptation of a braided structure made of braided fiber strands (12), comprising the steps of: braiding a plurality of fiber strands (12), each consisting of a plurality of strands to a braid (10) on a mandrel (14) wherein a pressure is applied to at least one surface portion (a, B) of the braided structure (10) through which the cross-section of the respective fiber strands (12) changes in the surface portion (a, B). Further, the invention relates to a braiding apparatus (100) for carrying out the method. By the present invention, it is possible to increase the degree of coverage braided fiber strands to the braiding process.
