Synthesis and Antimicrobial Evaluation of Some FusedIminopyrimido Benzothiazole Derivatives

New series of 2-substituted aryl amine and heteryl amine derivatives of 3-Cyano 7, 8-dichloro, 4-imino-2-2 methylthio-4-H pyrimido [2, 1-b] [1, 3] benzothiazole is synthesized. The antimicrobial activity of the synthesized compounds were studied by Disc diffusion method using various gram stains of microbes and compared with the standard drug Penicillin. From the result, it was concluded that 4c, 6c and 6d were found to be better active against gram positive and gram negative bacterial strain. Other substituted compounds are found to be moderate or poor antimicrobial activity.
