Sub-TeV H + Boson Production as Probe of Extra Top Yukawa Couplings

2020
We suggest searching for the charged Higgs boson at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) via $cg\ensuremath{\rightarrow}b{H}^{+}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}bt\overline{b}$. In the general two Higgs doublet model, extra top Yukawa couplings ${\ensuremath{\rho}}_{tc}$ and ${\ensuremath{\rho}}_{tt}$ can drive the disappearance of antimatter from the Universe, while $\overline{c}b{H}^{+}$ and $\overline{t}b{H}^{+}$ couple with strength ${\ensuremath{\rho}}_{tc}{V}_{tb}$ and ${\ensuremath{\rho}}_{tt}{V}_{tb}$, respectively. For ${\ensuremath{\rho}}_{tc},{\ensuremath{\rho}}_{tt}\ensuremath{\sim}0.5$, and ${m}_{{H}^{+}}\ensuremath{\sim}300--500\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{GeV}$, evidence could emerge from LHC run 2 data at hand and discovery by adding run 3 data in the near future.
