The Comparisonof Some Fertilizers on Growth Indicators of Pot Stock (Matthiola incana)

2013
In order for a desirable growth, plants need fertile soil with good nutrient availability. Sometimes, in spite of having access to the nutrients, decrease yield, because of undesirable physical situation. Stock is one of the potting flowers that need organic matter to growth. So, to evaluate the effects of organic matter on growth, different organic fertilizers were used. Garden soil was used as main source of medium and also as control. In this study, treatments including garden soil amended by 4 and 8 % (w/w) of different organic fertilizerwere tested. This research was performed in a randomized complete block design with four replications. Results demonstrated that the highest plant height, floret diameterand carbohydrate content were obtained with sewage sludge. There is no significant difference on root dry and fresh weight. In general, 8% level ofsewage sludge was the most suitable organic matter in order to improve plant growth.
