A Visual Simulation System for the Weapon Tracking Servo

2010
The presented visual simulation system for the weapon tracking servo is a virtual reality system that is used for the demonstration of the collimation of aim. This system will be the base and effective method for the drill and target identification. A simulating of the weapon tracking effect is established through the wise algorithm. Besides, generic rendering during the draw process is performed through Vega Prime and OpenGL. And it implements accurate simulation of a reticle placed in the eyepiece of an optical instrument. In addition, the all-weather environment within a range in computer system is shown realistically according to practice of experimenting. The results of application show that the methods of simulation are feasible and the simulation images are close to the real images. Furthermore, it can reduce the cost of the training. This research has good prospect in military training and target identification.
